Overview

Odíhg Hajíhgiē̼àvdè was founded durring the late 14th century in fall of the year 1271, by Spider Swarms Cadward. The establishment of Odíhg Hajíhgiē̼àvdè was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Odíhg Hajíhgiē̼àvdè's construction back out of the project. Spider Swarms Cadward pushed on reguardles, and Odíhg Hajíhgiē̼àvdè was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Odíhg Hajíhgiē̼àvdè was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the late 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Odíhg Hajíhgiē̼àvdè is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Odíhg Hajíhgiē̼àvdè is buildings are arranged arround a network of premissive packed earth streets which form a grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town sits behind an impressive looking clay brick wall. The wall is notable for querried stone blocks being used to renforce the clay bricks in the expected manner and locations. While the wall was built to the exact specifications of modern fortifications, one has to wonder why the money invested into creating such a well fortified wall wasnt spent on a less impressive looking wall crated from sturdier materials. Odíhg Hajíhgiē̼àvdè's walls would endure a brief bombardment, but only from light siege weapons. It seems more likly the town's walls were not designed with defence in mind but rather lending the town a certain air with visitors. The town's boondoggle-of-a-fortified wall have recently undergone extensive repairs and renovations, such that the repairwork is imeadiently apparent and can be spotted due to the diffring ages of materials. One can't help but wonder what brought the need for those repairs to the town.

Odíhg Hajíhgiē̼àvdè has the unmistakable air of a town on its last legs. Everything is a bit slipshod and ramshackle. Everyone is at work, or drinking. No one has anything in their eyes other than fear and despair. Whatever industry once fueled Odíhg Hajíhgiē̼àvdè ’s existence has dried up and the town is drifting down the stream of history as it dries up.

Cultural Notes

Odíhg Hajíhgiē̼àvdè's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for its functional shapes, abstract shapes used sparingly for decor, simple color schemes, holistic design, and basic industrial materials. Its simple designs were created to be beautiful, functional, and mass-producible. The style used little to no embellishment or ornamentation, instead drawing attention to the streamlined design, such as flat roofs to create a simple, geometric look. The simplicity masks the style's nearly sinister functionality, as every last feature is designed to guide the people living in the building in how to make the most efficient use of the structure.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Odíhg Hajíhgiē̼àvdè was attacked by members of a peasant revolt. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Odíhg Hajíhgiē̼àvdè lost 260 people, 124 livestock, and 88 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 105, when members of Odíhg Hajíhgiē̼àvdè's militia enacted an operation to transport a specific prototype to a particular port unharmed. The operation was complicated by a trusted officer who turned traitor and defects. The conflict ended with the defense of the port against a siege, which ended in a stalemate for Odíhg Hajíhgiē̼àvdè's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Odíhg Hajíhgiē̼àvdè's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
